“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” – Brené Brown

About Jeanne

Jeanne's calling to mental health began after she finished her undergraduate degree at Villanova University where she also played Division 1 soccer. She experienced grief and anxiety when her identity as an athlete was put into question and her career aspirations were redefined due to the constraints put on her academic schedule. Jeanne dealt with the loss by training for a marathon which then lead to a new opportunity. When she started her graduate degree in counseling, running became a stress relief and a way to restore her sense of self. Her hobby then became a profession that allowed her to travel around the country competing as a marathoner. Despite the excitement of this new adventure, Jeanne longed to apply what she had learned in graduate school and started her career as a mental health professional in the school setting. During the nearly two decades in the schools, Jeanne focused on direct counseling support while also implementing system wide changes that would allow all students to access social emotional learning, substance use prevention program and college and career preparation.

During the pandemic, Jeanne began seeing individual clients of all ages in a group practice and ultimately decided to leave the school setting. This change reinvigorated Jeanne's career as she was given the privilege of being a witness to clients' beautiful and at times heartbreaking stories.  Jeanne works with individuals who have experienced trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use disorders, ADHD, OCD, and other challenges that impede their ability to thrive. She takes a strengths based approach that incorporates CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and EMDR. As a former collegiate and professional athlete, Jeanne believes in the mind body connection and uses movement as another means of regulating emotions and adjusting mindsets. Jeanne strives to instill hope in her clients and wants them to leave sessions knowing that they hold value in this world.

In her free time Jeanne is busy raising three active children with her husband who all share her passion for athletics. Many afternoons and evenings are spent in the car traveling between practices and finding the time to connect as a family.  The mountains are her home, so she starts most mornings getting out on the trails before the sun rises with her pup, Thor. Jeanne also coaches other distance runners from around the country online, helping them reach their athletic goals. When she is not on the move, Jeanne enjoys reading non fiction and sleeping as much as she can.
